House Advisors

Brent Aucoin

I have been the pastoral advisor of Fairway since March 2007. I hope to serve Fairway for many years like Al Sutton did before me for over thirty five years. I love Fairway because I love seeing young men grow to become more like Christ during their college years. It was during my college experience that a godly man reached out to me and shepherded me. I was making critical decisions during that time and also foolish mistakes. But those years were transformative for me. Now, I get excited to see God get a hold of young men’s lives and shape them for His purposes. I want to be a part of that here at Fairway.

I am married to Janet (since 1994). I have two children Joshua and Karis. In addition to being the pastoral advisor at Fairway, I serve as the Pastor of Seminary and College Ministries at Faith Church, (in Lafayette) President of Faith Bible Seminary, and am also an instructor and counselor at Faith Biblical Counseling Ministries.

For those interested in credentials, I have the following “letters” after my name : Ph.D. candidate, Baptist Bible Seminary, Clarks Summit, PA; Th.M. in Old Testament, Trinity Evangelical School; M.Div., Central Baptist Theological Seminary; M.S., Engineering, Purdue University; B.S., Mechanical Engineering, Oklahoma State University.

Being an advisor to the Fairway Christian Cooperative brings me great satisfaction. Working with the Fairway members is a perfect role for me. I am a Christian, I have raised two sons, and I have been a professor at Purdue for 27 years. Interacting with the Fairway members is energizing. These young Christian men are on track to transform the world. They love Jesus, have a Christian world view, and are our future leaders. They are fully interacting with our modern culture and are also being nourished with Christian fellowship in the house. Fairway is a welcoming oasis in today’s world.
